Watching the NBA

I was very surprised when I saw the Oklahoma City Thunder just get blown out of the NBA Finals 4-1. The Miami Heat just ripped the souls out of them with three pointers, dunks and easy layups. Mike Miller and Norris Cole really gave the Miami Heat serious playing time off the bench. But let me back away from the finals and talk about one of the biggest days in the NBA: the NBA draft on Thursday.

Writer Christian Clark from Buckeye-Shaker. Christian is an eighth-grader and head coach of the Suns basketball team, ages 8-11, at the Zelma George Recreation Center.

The Cavaliers happen to be the fourth overall pick this year. This is going to be a very risky draft because we don’t need another power forward because we have a young and intriguing one in Tristan Thompson. But we could use a young shooting guard or even small forward to back up Kyrie Irving.  If I was in the office I would choose Bradley Beal if he was available. I would also pick Fab Melo because we need a big man in the middle to help out Anderson Varejao.

The Cavs ended up picking Dion Waiters out of Syracuse. That was a good pick considering Beal was already taken by Washington and Charlotte took Michael Kidd-Gilchrist. But this was my Mock Draft:

My Mock Draft 1-5

1 Hornets: Anthony Davis, PF/C
Kentucky

2 Bobcats: Thomas Robinson, PF
Kansas

3Wizards: Bradley Beal, SG
Florida

4: Cavaliers Michael Kidd-Gilchrist, SF
Kentucky
