Buckeye-Shaker City Fresh Stop to Open June 12

Want to find super-fresh, healthy and affordable eats in your neighborhood this summer? Look no farther than the new Buckeye-Shaker City Fresh Stop, a community supported agriculture initiative that promotes urban health and sustainable food systems in Northeast Ohio.

Every Tuesday between June 12 and October 23, shareholders will gather at the new stop (located at 12000 Shaker Blvd.) to collect just-picked fruits and vegetables, swap recipe ideas and connect with neighbors. Shares cost between $28 per week for a Family Share and $15 per week for a Single Share; you can purchase shares for the entire season or on a week-by-week basis (though shares must be purchased at least a week in advance of the Fresh Stop).

City Fresh also offers a limited-income option for eligible customers (you can also use your Ohio Direction Card). This Buckeye-Shaker City Fresh Stop is hosted by Preterm, a local clinic that has provided quality, safe and compassionate abortion care since 1974. This stop grows out their commitment to sustainability (Preterm is LEED-certified medical facility), to the local food theme for this year for Sustainable Cleveland, and out of their desire to serve their neighborhood.
