A fundraiser for Olympic boxer Terrell Gausha is scheduled for 5:30 – 7:30 p.m. tonight at Barley House, 1265 W.6th St. A $20 donation includes draft beer and appetizer buffet. SportsTime Ohio will be doing a live broadcast and a taped segment of this event. Money raised aids Terrell’s mother’s travel to London so that she can be there to support him during the Olympics.
On hand will be: Terrell’s trainer, Renard Safo, a postal carrier; Tim Cheatwood, Terrell’s cousin and a defensive tackle for the Cleveland Gladiators; and Teretha Jones, Terrell’s mother, who retired from Chrysler after 32 years. Also, Kelly Pavlik, former Middleweight Champion of the World and current top-ranked Super Middleweight contender.
Currently Terrell Gausha (Glenville High School ’05) is in Bolton, England for USA Team training camp. He will arrive at London’s Olympic Village on July 24.
All donors to “Terrell’s Family Olympic Fund” will be invited to a special sponsors welcome home event when Terrell returns from London.
