Mail Carrier Trains Boxers to Deliver Victories

So far, eight young boxers have turned pro thanks to Renard Saffo. The 59-year-old is a graduate of Shaw High School in East Cleveland. He began boxing in 1973 and went on to win three Golden Gloves amateur boxing competitions. Innovative Schools in the Greater University Circle area

The Intergenerational School was the only school in Greater University Circle, and one of only two charter schools in Northeast Ohio, to receive an "Excellent with Distinction" rating from the Ohio Department of Education for the 2010-11 academic year, the most recent ratings available.  But, Greater University Circle is also home to other highly-rated schools. The Grub Shop: Healthy Food, Affordably Priced

James Peterson’s Grub Shop reopened in April just east of University Circle. The restaurant now offers catering and vegetarian dishes. The meatless selections are in honor of Peterson’s late brother, who was a vegetarian. There are veggie burgers, chili, Polish boys.

Coit Road Farmers’ Market Enters 80th Year With A New Look

By Joe Jerdonek, NV Contributor EAST CLEVELAND- The long white farmers’ market building at Coit and Woodworth roads has been transformed.  Neubert Painting of Lakewood selected the market from 50 other nominees to fulfill their Charity Painting Event for 2011.  Instead of a chipped-paint exterior, the market now features a Kale Green roof, ripe apple red walls and cream colored trim more fitting to the fresh produce and dairy products sold at.
